Redesigning the hell out of Starfire's costume
Teen Titans Go! is what I really cut my teeth on when it comes to DC’s superheroes. I loved Starfire for her loving and straightforward nature, as well as her impenetrable loyalty and honestly kickass powers (so effortless and explody!).
I haven’t read any of the original Teen Titans, but what little of the artwork I’ve seen, especially of Starfire, has kinda made me cringe. The...

I still have the Hedran you made me. :D
An Interview with the Batgirl of the SDCC panels
dcwomenkickingass:
There were lots of stories that came out of SDCC this year, but the one that has caught the attention of the comics community was a woman who dressed up as Batgirl to ask questions about female characters and creators at several DC Comics’ panels. I first became aware of her questions while following the live feeds of Newsarama and CBR. If you read this blog you know I have...

Now, clearly, I am quite excited! And it’s awesome to see the fandom get kicked up over just a trailer and some design pics (just imagine what the internet will look like once the actual episodes air, good lord.) But I personally have to take a moment to express how mind-blowing it…
Love you forever, Avatar series.

This is getting ridiculous.
I have far too many tattoo ideas. Want a list? Have a list.
- Classic tattoo script under the clavicle saying “I am a fever”
- The Time Lord word for “Friend” on the left arm just below the elbow
- An art deco club (as in the card suit) with two roses and a forget-me-not in each of the cicles that make up said club, likely on the upper arm just below the shoulder
- A...
Dealing with that "I'm looking for an artist"...
penmouse:
This article is to inform artists on how to deal with people requesting artwork for commercial uses, especially online. I’m far from being a professional (and please take everything I say with a grain of salt, and always do more research), the information in this is gathered from learning about business practices for illustrators, and experiences both personal and from friends....

I’m trying to get the Full-ride Scholarship at Musicians Institute. Please vote for my video.
Send it to people that you know and vote daily please.
Signal boosting this like hell.
The arts like to be extremely ironic in that they require degrees from the best (and most expensive) specialized schools to get the lowest-paying jobs.
So, please vote for this guy here, because the less...
LGBT Laughs: Can Boys Wear Dresses? →
lgbtlaughs:
I’m currently an English teacher working in Beijing and I was teaching a class of 3-5 year olds here at work. The subject was clothing and I came to the word ‘dress.’ The following conversation ensued.

Since there are thirteen (!) dwarves walking around and air drumming in the behind the scenes footage Peter Jackson so generously bestowed upon us, I got a little confused. I decided to find out their names and the names of the actors that played them and I put them together…

This is wonderful. I wish the internet hadn’t glitched out, because I had very similar baggage to the person I read about, and I wanted to send them a song that had comforted me over the past year or so.

At Comic Con a little boy had lost his dad in the crowd, and was scared until he saw the Flash and Wonder Woman. He went up to the Flash to asked for help, because he knows him. Adorable.
The cutest thing ever. This warm and fuzzy feeling’s gonna last for weeks.

Thinking Too Much in the Shower Part 1
Also known as There’s no Straightgirl because Every Other Hero is a Straighthero.
In a summer that has been very slow for art, I recently revisited developing the characters for Lesbogirl and Straightgirl: Beautiful Warriors of Justice!, a half-satirical magical girl comic for which the title is fairly self-explanatory. Since then, I’ve had a short period of time during which I...
